Plain-English summary: SetPrep is a desktop app for Mac + Windows that helps DJs plan mix sets using AI. You can use the free tier (3 mixes per month) without paying. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly via Polar. Refunds are handled case-by-case; email us if you've got a billing issue and we'll work with you in good faith. We don't guarantee perfection (the AI is a tool, not a god) but we'll fix bugs we hear about.

1. The agreement

By installing SetPrep or creating an account at setprep.app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the product. We can update these terms with 30 days' notice for material changes (sent to your account email).

2. The product

SetPrep is desktop software for macOS and Windows that:

• Reads your Rekordbox library locally
• Sends a track summary to our AI provider's API to plan a mix
• Writes hot cues (Mix In + Mix Out), colours, ratings, and transition notes back into Rekordbox (memory cues, loops and structural cues coming soon)

The product is provided "as is". It will sometimes get things wrong (the AI is good but not perfect). Always review the planned mix before performing it live.

3. License (free tier)

You may use SetPrep free of charge subject to:

• A monthly cap of 3 generated mix plans, reset on the 1st of each calendar month
• Compliance with these terms

The free tier may change in capability or limits with reasonable notice. You'll always have a way to export your existing data before any breaking change.

4. License (SetPrep Pro)

If you pay for SetPrep Pro you receive:

• Unlimited mix plans (subject to fair use, see §5)
• All current and future Pro features for the duration of your subscription
• Priority support via chris@setprep.app

Pricing is published at setprep.app/pricing. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until then.

5. Fair use

SetPrep Pro is "unlimited" for normal individual DJ use. Specifically:

• Generating mixes for your own DJ practice, performances, and exploration is fine.
• Sharing your account credentials so multiple people can generate mixes is not. Each user needs their own account.
• Automated/scripted use (e.g. wrapping the API to generate hundreds of mixes per day) requires a separate commercial agreement. Email us.
• If we detect usage 10× or more above typical individual usage, we'll email you. Most heavy-but-legitimate users (e.g. busy event DJs prepping multiple sets per week) will not trigger this.

6. Refunds

We don't offer a standing refund window. If you have a billing issue, an extenuating circumstance, or feel SetPrep isn't what you expected, email chris@setprep.app and we'll look at it on a case-by-case basis in good faith.

If we accidentally double-charge or charge you after cancellation, we'll refund without question.

Statutory rights under your local consumer-protection law (for example, the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 cooling-off provisions for distance purchases) are unaffected by this section.

7. Your responsibilities

• Back up your Rekordbox library before any tool (including SetPrep) writes to it. We use a surgical patcher that preserves data we don't touch, but bugs happen.
• Keep your login credentials safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• Don't try to break the system. No reverse-engineering, no automated scraping, no attempting to extract our AI provider's API key, no DDoSing the website. We will detect and ban accounts attempting this.
• Comply with music licensing. SetPrep doesn't distribute music, but you still need the right to use any tracks in your library for the venues you play in. That's between you, your music sources, and the relevant performance rights organisations.

8. Intellectual property

SetPrep (the software, the website, the brand) is owned by Chris Seller. You're licensed to use it under these terms; you're not granted ownership.

The mix plans the AI generates for you (track ordering, cue points, transition notes) belong to YOU. We claim no ownership over your sets. Use them however you want.

9. Warranty + liability

SetPrep is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We don't promise it will be bug-free, won't crash, won't occasionally produce a weird mix. We DO promise to fix bugs we hear about (email us).

Our maximum liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. This doesn't apply to liability that can't be excluded by law (death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud).

Specifically: we're not liable for bad gigs caused by SetPrep recommendations, lost music libraries (back up!), or stress caused by the AI planning a set you disagree with. Always review the plan before performing.

10. Termination

You can cancel your account at any time via the website settings or by emailing us. We can suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these terms
• Trigger our fraud detection (e.g. chargebacks, payment disputes)
• Engage in abuse (towards us, our infrastructure, or other community members in the forum)

If we terminate your account for cause, you forfeit any unused subscription time. If we terminate without cause (e.g. shutting down the product), we'll refund the unused portion.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. (If you're outside the UK and consumer protection laws give you stronger rights, those apply too.)
